MUNICIPAL ENFORCEMENT CORPS

The policing body of Neoasis is the privatised Municipal Enforcement  Corps, recognisable by the signature exo-suits that allows the use of augments without direct bodily integration. MECs patrol the city solo, shutting down unlawful behaviour, poised to respond to emergency calls. Despite their menacing stature, MECs are generally well-liked and trusted in Neoasis, though one particularly nasty event has resulted in the puppeteer protocol that allows MEC HQ to shut down any rogue agents remotely. 

Due to their potential for weaponisation, each MEC suit is equipped with an onboard A.I. which safeguards against unfriendly cyber attacks. These A.I. are a MEC's partner who they are conditioned to form strong bonds with very early on in their training. The A.I. partners help to run and maintain the exo-suit and its equipped augments, as well as giving advice and company to their MEC pilot, and ensuring the company's policies are upheld.
